Wanted to pass along information from the computer experts who sorted out the viral mess I made of my laptop recently. Maybe I’m not the only one who was blissfully ignorant of this seemingly small piece of info. Actually my computer savvy daughter didn’t know this either, so I’m not an altogether, lost cause.
I was told when a pop-up interrupts whatever I’m doing, NOT to click on its red “x” to cancel. Doing so automatically lets its virus into your computer. Yikes! Instead, I should press “cntrl” + “alt” + “delete.” On the next page, I should click on “start task manager.” On the following page, I should click on the “pop-up” and “end task.” That will remove the pop-up, without allowing its virus to infiltrate.
