weekly photo challenge: winter

Have been remiss in contributing to this challenge of late. Was so glad to finally see today’s theme. Kept looking for it the last 24 hours. So now that it’s here my innards are churning with excitement. As soon as I saw the submission offered by WordPress…images bounced around inside my cranium like ping pong balls. Get the picture? Well, let’s hope you “get” where I’m at with my winter musings…

Time to enjoy our brood of furry pets…in the comfy, cozy spaces…of the great indoors.

…aaahhh…winter…nothing like it…

………hugmamma.  😉

  1. great photos of adorable pets, I do love the grumpy Sunkist… and I agree with you… GO away winter.. I hate shovelling, Icy roads, and frozen toes. I will sit by the fire, hibernating until spring.

    • You must be a born and bred winter wonderland person. I’m an islander whose body temperature remains in the tropics, no matter where my husband’s jobs have transplanted us. The older I’ve gotten, the less appeal winter has for me. I lived in New York and Connecticut for 21 years before moving to Seattle. I loved the east coast, the seasonal changes…even the snow. But shoveling out from under snow and driving on icy roads were not so attractive the older I got…moreso for a woman born and bred in Hawaii. So while I love to observe winter’s beauty, I like to do so from indoors…enjoying its comfortable coziness…with family and pets. Therefore…my pictures depict winter…for me. Doesn’t mean I’m not awestruck by Mother Nature’s magnificence during winter. I just don’t like…getting up close and personal. 🙂 hugs for stopping by and commenting…you’re always welcome!

    • Any huge plans to ring in 2012? We’re just having cocktails with neighbors. We might join the group for dinner out afterwards…depending upon my back. Sitting too long can aggravate things. Anyway, looking forward to continuing to chat well into the New Year…and beyond… 🙂

sending hugs right back at you… 🙂 btw…thanks so much for the nomination as “blogger of the year”…so many deserving people, including yourself. your nomination is reward enough for me… 😉

    • Seems to me you’ve admired Sunkist in a previous photo shoot. She’s a cutie to be sure…when she wants to be. At 16, she tends to be a little grumpy. But I understand…since I’m right there with her as old age continues to pour on the aches and pains… ha, ha. 🙂

  6. Indoors is the best place to be when temperatures outside are below freezing. Your furry pets have the right idea. Great entry hugmamma! I like it.

    • I’m always into comfy and cozy…especially during hibernating weather. I’m certain you’re more acclimated to the cold and chill, given where you live. Love its natural beauty…but having been born and bred an island girl…will probably always have me craving warmth and smoldering sunshine… 🙂
