weekly photo challenge: summer

Here in the Pacific Northwest summer is but a fleeting moment in an otherwise gray, soggy landscape. So we don’t really discuss the weather except when the sun shines brightly and the warm air settles upon us like a lightweight blanket, comforting but not suffocating.

For us, spring signals that summer cannot be far behind…

    • I’d forgotten how breathtaking the sight is…miles and miles of tulip fields in the most amazing array of colors and varieties…or did I already say this on my post. Words just can’t describe the sight. The only downside, if there is one, are the throngs of folks traveling through the 2 lane, country roads during the month or so that the blooms are strutting their stuff. That’s why we’d not been back to visit in over a decade…the crowds. But as you can see there’s more than enough room to wander once you’re out of your car.

      …absolutely delicious slice of heaven… 🙂

    • I guess it’s obvious I got carried away with my camera. I think I was hoping to bury these shots in my garden in the hopes the flowers would sprout. Now that would be some kind of digital magic. Where’s an inventor when you need one? 🙂

    • I must admit tulips don’t come to mind immediately when I think of favorite blooms. But when we drive through Skagit Valley here in Washington State during tulip season, it is an amazing sight to behold…fields and fields of tulips in an array of wondrous colors and varieties. Mother Nature and God creating beauty…together. 🙂
