On a cruise of the British Isles last Fall, the Queen Mary II was hailed with majestic fireworks while anchored in Liverpool. Lucky us, we had a ringside seat. There’s nothing like the movement of explosive sparks of fire as they hang suspended…disappearing from sight shortly thereafter.
…movement…electrifying and ear-shattering…

If one likes fireworks, San Diego is the place to be during the summer. SeaWorld has a 10-minute fireworks show every night from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Wow! That’s a lot of fireworks. I guess it’s good…and not so good. I would imagine the noise can be off-putting for those living nearby. And wouldn’t you think the novelty would soon wear off?

The novelty only wears off for the locals. SeaWorld gets 6½ million visitors each year, and we only have 3 million locals living in San Diego County.

Great for the visitors! Maddening for the locals? Or are they already immune to the nightly hoopla? I’m afraid I’d be thinking of taking a long vacation during fireworks’ season…somewherelse.

Homeowners in the area get real estate disclosures before buying, so they know what they are getting into. I live 7 miles from SeaWorld and can watch the fireworks and hear the booms from my back patio.

Aaahhh…real estate disclosures…a good thing. At least one knows before the big boom, boom, boom.
So do you love the daily starlit nights and the big bang? At least you’d never need to go anywhere for fireworks. Lucky you!

I don’t watch them all the time, but I always know exactly when 9:50 p.m. arrives during the summer! I call it my Big Boom alarm clock………lol

Not allowed to take photos of performances…disruptive to the dancers. So unfortunately I’ve no shots like the one you took. 😦
