In celebration of life…my mother-in-law died September of last year…Poet Walt Whitman says it best…
Happiness…
not in another place, but this place,
- …a very proud, and loving, grandma mary…
- …the daughters for whom she served as a role model…
- …a son…and a son-in-law…both beloved without differentiation by a mom with so much aloha to share…
- …too many grandchildren to count…but grandma loved each and everyone…the same…
not for another hour, but this hour.
…make the hours count…before the hour glass runs out of sand…
………hugmamma.
…our beloved dad…and grandpa john…who went before…
What a lovely post.

Lovely post, I never met my mother in law- she died before I met my husband and I always felt I missed out on that relationship.

In many ways my mother-in-law provided the warmth and concern my own mom seemed unable to give consistently. Of course she had my father-in-law, a good husband and father, until he was in his late 60s. They were married to one another for many years. My mom, on the other hand, was my father’s third wife, and was left to support 9 children at age 30 when he died of a heart attack. He was 60 at the time. My mom didn’t have a great life, so she gave what she could of herself.
Wish you could have known the love and affection of your mother-in-law as well. Did she die young? Unexpectedly?
