Fragmented life. Fragmented man.
Lost. Not found.
Wife? Children?
Misery.
Broken. Shredded. Suicide.
Consuming greed. Never enough.
Power bestowed. Correction. Power grasped.
Narcissus incarnate.
Deals brokered. Ruthlessly. Invisibly.
Laws broken.
Hangers on. Bought. Sold.
Feeding frenzy. Shark bait.
No guilt.
Booze. Drugs. Mindless pleasure.
Back alleys. Dark doorways. Blackmails. Pay offs.
A man without a soul passes through this world, his body parts in disarray.
Dead inside.
His environment having no impact except to amuse.
Heartbreak for she who fell for this empty shell.
And his sons.
Forgotten.
Victims.
Struggling. Still.
Oh there was a lot to like in this story.. like the way your story/poem is as cut up as the shell of man,,,

I was going for hard-hitting impact, Joanna. So thanks for “hitting the nail” on the head with your comment. Madoff and the whole ensuing media blitz was like a meteoric phenomenon…an explosion…and then a crater filled with a lot of victims.

Never, ever enough hours in the day. Too late last night…and every night. Wish I could crawl between the covers at 9 p.m. I may think about doing so at that time, but it takes me 2 more hours…or so…to actually do it. Your compliment makes it worthwhile…except I still have to get more shut-eye.

Looking forward to a massage later today. Have been suffering with fibromyalgia. Hoping bodily manipulation at the hands of an expert will do the trick. May help my foggy brain as well. What was your big blog post about and for whom? Give yourself a break…take the rest of the day off. Okayed by…hugmamma.

I am co-hosting a weekly blog hop this week, and was asked to do so, last minute. So the post had to be done really quickly. Hence the late night. It was for the weekly “Remember The Time…” and the prompt was “The Last Day”… school, work, etc. I went a little left of center and wrote about the last days I didn’t know would be last days. No rest for the weary today… but thanks for the pass. I’ll save it. I have my final day of training for Hospice today, and I’m hosting the class (20 people) for dinner at my house tonight… and I’ve got a cold coming on. Tomorrow, I will crash! Enjoy your massage! I will be (jealously) thinking of you. 😉

If you look on my Tales From the Motherland page, the new blog I posted today has the link. You can click on and read some of the stories, or write one yourself. It’s done weekly, and loads of fun! All I need is a good night’s sleep, at this point. 😉

Dear Millie,
Your verses hit their target and, at the same time, put me in mind of a couple of people I’ve known. Poster children for Narcissism. I won’t go into detail…they’d only enjoy it if they were to read. (Not likely). Well painted picture here.

Thanks, Rochelle. Tried to describe every detail of BM as I could get into 100 words of verse. Not sure if prose would have had the same impact. hugs…
