weekly photo challenge: selfie

I did a great job of keeping myself out of these selfies. Don’t you agree? I caught my hubby’s reflection in the second one, but again…no me. Not that I tried. Just luck, I guess.

OR…was I even there?

If I didn’t know better, I’d say…I was a ghost!!!  You can see right through me!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog to see my entry for this one!

Window shots are a real challenge for sure. We have been trying to take shots of holiday decorations in our window– when it’s light enough, we get reflections. When it’s darker, there isn’t enough light, and using flash means a big lens flare.

    • I wish I could say taking these shots was difficult. But I must admit that I’m a “point and shoot” photographer…a real amateur. I expected to see my reflection, and was surprised not to see it. I couldn’t say why it doesn’t show up. Maybe I’m a vampire? Yikes! What a thought…

        • Thanks for putting it into perspective. All photographers begin as amateurs. Because of all the technical mumbo-jumbo, I don’t think I’ll ever graduate…from pointing and shooting.

Granted, this is more likely to show up with tablets and smartphones than dedicated cameras, but the technology is there, and you need not be a techie wizard to use it.

So if I had to pick something I’m passionate about doing, it’d have to be writing and publishing something. That takes time, as does a lot of great hobbies. But thanks for the encouragement. It means a lot…

As you said, the part that’s off- putting is the work it takes to get something published, let alone the writing. When I’m done, I’ll share the steps it took to put a book out. I’ll try to keep it short and sweet. I’ve read others posts about self-publishing. They were enough to discourage me. Since time’s elapsed, I’m taking up the gauntlet once again.

    • At the time I was just interested in photographing people while hubby and I were out and about in Seattle. I was having a great time and wanted to capture other folks in the same mode…even those at work. I love your photos, so your comment is a gift. hugs…
